Recently, Scientific American featured a presentation hosted by the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics featuring author Lee Smolin to present his new book, “Einstein’s Unfinished Revolution: The Search for What Lies Beyond the Quantum”. The discussion questioned the quantum findings of observation being responsible to push quanta into a state noting the billions of years of formation that the Universe underwent long before an observer, be that a human or any living being, having arrived on the scene. He explained that there are observables (depending on observations) and be-ables (which simply “are” despite interaction). As such, he has split three common rules of physics accordingly. The Uncertainty principle then, would be associated with the particle being observed while Superposition could be applied to the other state excluding an observer.
What the lecture seemed to endorse without an actual read of his new book release, is an attempt to find a realist view of physics to explain the many components that seem to defy the logic about the way the world around us seems to operate. This carries on Einstein’s views, which were perplexed by what he called, “spooky action at a distance” (qtd. Einstein). This was because he theorized that nothing could move faster than the speed of light, making all the more puzzling that a particle would immediately take an opposing state to twin quanta with no time whatsoever lapsing in the reaction, correlating it’s state faster than the speed of light to the twin quanta. Thus, the third rule of entanglement and non-locality stand as a still perplexing feature of such inexplicable phenomena. What seemed to be the explanation of this from Smolin was that any interaction between quantum systems stored within them a memory of the common history. What seems to be the essential message of his philosophy is that there are certainties and there are probabilities. (Smolin Live 04/17/2019)

When we consider using the findings of quantum theory in our every day lives, to influence the quanta that we interact with, a realist view is equally relevant, as there are things in this world that no matter what we think of it, will remain despite our convictions or beliefs. We cannot convince ourselves through a brick wall or sprout wings to fly, but between certainty and probability is a wide range of possibility that we can consciously interact with to influence and manifest with the nudging of our thought energy. Although much of quantum theory seems to defy our logic or way of interpreting the world, we should realize that despite this, whether through an intrinsic interconnection or invisibly recorded memory, that innovations in the real world based on these principles do work! Lasers, telecommunications, computers, smartphones, GPS, atomic clocks and magnetic resonance imaging are all manifestations of quantum mechanics theory. These have emerged rapidly upon recent discoveries of quantum mechanics and represent merely the adolescent developments of these laws in practice.

In all of the Universe, the body of an organism, of atoms, between all of the actual solid matter that exists; what lies between is 99.9999999% “empty space”. (Sundermier sciencealert.com). This leaves less than 1% of solid matter that makes up reality spread out over all the galaxies, stars, planets, people, and things on our planet and across space. Being exclusively focused on such a small portion of reality seems insufficient in understanding existence, especially if the “empty space” or Akashic Field that is the vast majority of what does exist, operates through and among the solids, encompassing and capable of influencing form through an engaged communication, subconsciously and consciously entangled. Research in physiological changes associated with meditation provides evidence of more dynamic neural networks, physical thickening of cortex layers in the brain (associated with intelligence and cognitive abilities), improved immunity and nervous system functioning, decreased signs of aging, and a various stream of phenomena associated with conscious activity. From a psychological perspective, improved emotional regulation with suppression of dissociative disorders, and a state of inter-connected well-being are intertwined benefits. Physical changes induced by conscious efforts to heal bodily ailments and reduce stress are also among the multiple ways that people can experience an improved quality to daily life by simply setting aside time for conscious mental activity.
Dr. Dawson Church recommends the morning for meditation, while the brain is in the frequency range of alpha to start the day with a positive mental state of a coherent mind, noting that optimists have half the mortality rate of pessimists. Through consciousness, we bring coherence to our brain, heart, and entire biological system. (Church Chapter 5)
Mind to Matter: The Astonishing Science of How Your Brain Creates Material Reality
by Dawson Church Phd
Dive into the fascinating world of ‘Mind to Matter’ by Dawson Church, Ph.D., as it explores the incredible science behind how your thoughts shape material reality.
Church also discusses the role of dreams as a power of our minds to connect with an informational source . He details the accounts of a woman whose experience led her to write a book for other women who might relate to the experience, after her own self-diagnosis of breast cancer through a dream, directed her to find the exact location that it was growing in her breast. Doctors in general report multiple instances of cancer and other ailments identified by patients through dreams. Dr Church concludes reminding us of the well documented placebo and nocebo effects and the summarizing point this brings us to; which is that we are the writers of our own paths forward. When East meets West, consciousness reaches a moment of evolved function in an operational sense of our thoughts and desires. Using techniques such as Tai Chi or Zen meditation, focusing on the present and being conscious of our perceptions, we can write our own codes forward. (Church Chapter 6)
Despite the elusive nature of consciousness, it must be considered central to our interpretation of the physical world, as it is essentially the tool we have to analyze it. German physicist, Nobel laureate, and among the first founders of quantum mechanics, Werner Heisenberg said, “We have to remember that what we observe is not nature herself, but nature exposed to our method of questioning”. (Heisenberg 1958) Consciousness directs that method and is the prime tool we have as humans to utilize the findings.

In conclusion, a vast trove of physical evidence exists for the relevance of thoughts and consciousness on our physical world. Whether aware or not of this connection, the sub-conscious continues to work behind the scenes to draw to us what it is that we expect and believe of reality. Through meditative practices, we can reprogram the unconscious to be more beneficial to our manifestations. Consciously exhuming love and gratitude ripples out to the environment and affects the molecular integrity of our surroundings. The vibrational frequency of our observations have a quantum effect on the reality we experience as quanta jump in and out of various forms accordingly. Connecting our minds with a greater Infinite Intelligence, Akashic Field, or Collective All, strengthens the pull that our thoughts have on our environments, and for our own individual consciousness to express, create and digest reality with. University of Metaphysics founder, Dr Masters states, “The philosophy and psychology of metaphysics are created almost entirely from higher states of consciousness experienced in meditation”. (Masters, Master’s Degree Curriculum 2: 40) This makes it worth the time and effort to build that ability towards creating lives that work more for us rather than against us. There is no financial cost but the benefit is limitless when consciousness of perception as a skill or muscle can simply be strengthened with regular use and attention.

The air, the water, plants, animals, people, are all connected by an informational field that carries the frequency of our energies, drawing to us the people, places and situations that coincide with the energy we emit with our thoughts. Meditation and mindfulness are methods of directing and empowering thought energy and frequency to influence the physical world from our own bodies and beyond. It is my personal belief that we all know everything there is to know, we just don’t know that we know. The potential of tapping into that field of knowledge lies within us all; to innately know what it is to be a flower, or the bee, a mountain, the sea. With mindfulness and mediation, we can harness the information of all that is, and use it to pathe the paths of our unique and collective purpose that we have been set upon in the lives that we lead. Perhaps it may simply be, that through conscious intention we are able to activate abilities that already lie within us all and are simply awaiting the conscious acknowledgement of those abilities to trigger the protein response. Evidence of the benefits already exists. Perhaps as civic scientists, we will collectively seek the knowledge experientially and can generate a greater bank of this intangible wealth through personal evidence to pass on fuller meaning and form, to the next generation. It may even possibly be that conscious contemplation and meditation happen to be the most powerful triggers to quantum evolution.
